"Volunteering is a meaningful and rewarding experience especially when it is about empowering women on their path to financial independence. I have learnt and developed new skills while carrying out a wide variety of tasks including:
"I have met new people and made connections, built new friendships and lasting relationships that I may not have otherwise had. I have gained invaluable experience working with others, learning about the organisation and seeing first hand how a non-profit operates. I enjoy the challenge of dealing with a range of situations and being part of a team. "Talking to the clients and helping them to feel great about themselves has been one of the more satisfying things I have done. "They feel proud of the way they can present themselves for a job interview or work attendance. This is where the real satisfaction is and it comes from seeing the look of pride and pleasure on the clients’ faces." |
